Above. I stumbled upon a feature I wish any website with user accounts would have.
Basically, it prohibits users from entering texts with annoying non-standard capitalizations.. a trend which has awfully plagued the internet.
Yes, the alternate caps.. and yes, I'm pointing out the most obvious culprit of this... Friendster.
As much as I don't appreciate blatant txtspeak, aLtErNaTe capitalizations come even worse. When people communicate, let's say via the english language, there's no need to turn words/texts in something close to encrypted data! You weren't trying to encode your words for enhanced privacy, right? Then consider the receiver and type it right!
I mean, even babies who are still learning to write don't write
CrAp LiKe ThIs!!I jUsT dOn'T SeE WhY So MaNy ReTaRdS kEeP TyPiNg ShiT LiKe ThIs ThInKiNg iT iS So CoOl?? ThIs Is NoT iN aNy WaY CuTe, jUst a DeFiNiTe EyEsOrE, AnD dOwNRiGhT AnNoYiNg!!
Then convert that into text speak, and you have a strong password already! Great eh? So then if we merge the two we have the
P4s$w0rD_Sp1K trend? (password speak, if you didn't get it)
Just great, no wonder sci-fi writers always depict the future as a machine/robot-dominated generation.. We are starting to adopt gibberish communication (low-level; machine language) as well.
But for the meantime.. kudos to Facebook for preventing these eyesores. :)
